I really didn’t think it was gonna work and i practically gave up when i plugged it straight out of the box into my b8 audi a4 and it didn’t work. Then i tried to actually use the provided cd and download the software. This isn’t a genuine ross-tech unit, so it won’t connect to vcds directly since they’ll block it, that’s why it says interface not found in many other reviews. The cd has software that messes with the vcds program and allows you to use it. It seemed very sketchy tbh while i was downloading it because you have to disable virus protection and stuff like that for it to work. But i followed all the instructions and made sure to open the app through the “vcdsloader” launcher you’re supposed to copy from the cd into the vcds folder. I was happily when i plugged it into my car and it actually worked. I used it to reset the service interval light, i cleared a code for “headlight defective range control”, and i used to activate needle sweep in my gauge cluster. Try it, it’s $30

This actually works and i was able to do an adaptation test after replacing the imrc motor on my jetta. I would however suggest using a spare laptop because the software comes with a trojan virus and you must have windows defender disabled for it to work.

As far as the product is concerned it is a1 s tier. Works perfectly, it will come with an installation disc but my laptop doesn’t come with a disk drive so i messaged the seller and they emailed me a digital link to download the version of vcds the device is compatible with. I believe it’s good up to 2018 model years but i could be wrong. I have a 2016 s4 and it worked perfectly. I mainly got it to do a transmission adaptation reset which i did do but there’s so much other stuff that you can do with it that i spent the first night in my car for like 3 hours. I would definitely recommend buying. Shipping sucked a little, they used uniuni which has a terrible reputation, and tracking notifications said it was “out for delivery” for two days. If you’re purchasing from the us, expect it to take about 15 days or so, so if you have time to wait then it shouldn’t be a problem. Hopefully my review helps!
